The story of Gray’s Towing Service started in 1945, when the pressures of wartime saw Ellsworth Gray laid off from his job at the local Buick factory. Determined to take matters into his own hands, Gray started his own towing and recovery business with nothing but a personally modified 1935 Chevy wrecker and a 1½-car garage behind his family’s home on Carpenter Road.
After decades of remodels, restorations and adjustments, that same Chevy wrecker still sits in our garage in Flint, MI. What hasn’t changed is our old-school approach to customer service. As a family-owned, family-operated company, we take pride in delivering the quality service upon which Ellsworth Gray built his business.
